If you’d like to print anything you want onto custom bandanas then your best bet is with dye sublimation.  Dye sublimation printing is a wonderful printing method that allows you to apply even photographic images onto fabrics in perfect color and clarity.  You don’t have to worry about any screens, inks, or embroidery thread because it’s a quick and simple transfer that will last the lifetime of the garment.

Sublimation bandanas are great because they’re inexpensive, but you can still receive fantastic printing results easily.  The sublimation process works by first taking high resolution digital artwork and printing it out of a special sublimation printer.  The printer applies the design to a transfer sheet using heat reactive dyes so that all you need to do from there is heat press the design to the blank fabric.  All it takes is a few seconds for the heat and pressure to vaporize the dyes and have them bind to the fabric.  Once the print is infused into the fabric you’ll never have to worry about cracking, peeling, or fading!

Once you see how easy it is to make your own sublimated tee, you won’t want to stop.  It can be as easy as taking your favorite photograph and applying it to the tee and just like that you’ve got a personalized garment.  How it works is by printing out the digital image using a dye sublimation printer.  The sublimation printer has special heat reactive dyes that it will apply to a heat transfer sheet to reproduce the image just as its shown on a computer screen.  With the artwork on the transfer sheet all you have to do is heat press it to the blank garment and the rest will follow.  During the brief period of time in the heat press, the heat will cause the dyes to convert from a solid into a gas and the pressure will force that gas into the very fibers of the garment!

The only requirements that must be met are the shirt has to be white and 100% polyester. This will guarantee that the colors are bright when it is printed. The second thing that is a must is that the art image must be high resolution and large in scale so that when it is scaled appropriately to the size of the shirts, it will not look pixelated or blurry.

We can print across the whole shirt on the front and the back, and even over the seams. There will be some areas that will have white crease marks, especially around the arm area, which are unavoidable when it goes under the press. When the design is printed on special printing sublimation paper, the ink will turn into a vapor and get dyed into the fabric.

What’s the fuss about sublimated prints?  Well, have you seen them?  Chances are that you have, even if you didn’t know that’s what you were looking at!  Sublimation prints let you explore your creativity in ways that will blow your mind.  Do you like printing with as many colors as you can?  Do you like ultra-crisp images?  You can have all of that and more with custom dye sublimated prints!

Now why is it that you can do much with dye sublimation?  A lot of it has to do with the fact that it is actually a type of digital printing that will later be transferred to the garment.  Since a computer handles the reproduction of the image, the level of detail and precision is simply unparalleled.  A special sublimation printer uses heat reactive dyes to administer the full design to a heat transfer sheet.  The dyes are formulated to convert from a solid into a gas when heated and this is how the print gets from the sheet to the garment.  Once the artwork is on the transfer sheet you just need to heat press the sheet to the blank garment to activate the dyes.

T Shirt Sublimation Process

Have you heard of dye sublimation and you are interested in the T shirt sublimation process?  I don’t blame you!  Once you see the results of custom dye sublimation on fabrics, you’ll be dying to try some designs of your own.  The best part about the T shirt sublimation process is that it’s actually very simple!  All you need is a high resolution image and half the battle is already over!  With our help at AMBRO Manufacturing we can take that image and apply it to your very own custom T shirts.

So how does the T shirt sublimation process begin?  The first step is taking your digital artwork and printing it out onto a heat transfer sheet using a sublimation printer.  The artwork is printed using special heat sensitive dyes and the image will be in full color and detail on the transfer sheet; there’s no need to separate it into individual layers of color like with screen printing.  The transfer sheet is then positioned onto the blank T shirt in preparation for the transfer.  Together the transfer and the garment will be heat pressed for a brief period which will cause the dyes on the sheet to vaporize and bind to the fabric permanently.  After that the shirt is ready to wear; that’s really all it takes!
