Have you ever heard of a process called sublimation?  It’s when a substance goes from a solid state directly into a gas state, instead of passing through the liquid phase as it normally might.  Why do I bring up such a process?  Well, did you know that this process is how custom dye sub printing works?  Yes, custom dye sub printing is a modern marvel of garment printing that allows you to print virtually any image onto clothing!

Sublimation printing first starts out with high resolution artwork because the design will be digitally printed from a special sublimation printer, so clarity counts!  The dyes used to print the design onto the heat transfer sheet are heat reactive so that they will activate during the transfer process.  To get the design off of the transfer sheet and onto the garment all you need to do is heat press it to the blank fabric.  The heat vaporizes the dyes and the pressure forces the dyes to permanently bind with the material you’re printing.  Once that’s done you’ll have a beautiful custom dye sub garment that will last for years.
